Who We Are! 

Hope City Church has a rich history of God’s faithfulness. Our journey began as New Life Christian Center, which later became Sonrise Worship Center under the leadership of L.B and Pat Johnson – leaders who remain deeply cherished in our church family. Though Pastor L.B. has gone to be with the Lord, sister Pat continues to be a source of encouragement, support, and nurturing for our community.

In 2011, our congregation was seeking a pastor to lead us into a new season. Around that time, God was stirring the hearts of Pastors Tyson and Jennifer Prater, preparing them for a shift in ministry. After much prayer, fasting, and seeking God’s direction, Pastor Tyson and Jenn became our lead pastors. Since then, we have witnessed God’s miraculous provision and guidance as He positioned us for the future.

In 2013, we embraced a new identity as Revolutionary Life Church, emphasizing outreach and the building of strong, Spirit-filled families and individuals in the town of Lutz.

By 2018, the Lord began stirring our hearts for expansion into new areas. Though we did not fully understand what this meant, we were committed to following Christ wherever He led. We sold our property to a church in need of space, and they graciously allowed us to rent back our facility for one year. During that year, we learned to trust God in a deeper way. Uncertainity is a true faith builder, but God always shows up on time.

In 2022, after much prayer and perseverance, we finalized the purchase of our current location in the beautiful town of Land O’ Lakes. For nine months, instead of immediately building on our new property, we met at Heritage Park Rec Center, where God continued to work in us. During this season, the Holy Spirit revealed our new mission – to bring hope to the city through Life, Healing, and Hope. This revelation led to our final transformation into who we are today: HOPE CITY CHURCH

Now, in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, we have stepped into the place God has prepared for us – but we know He’s not finished yet! While we are currently in a small building, praise the Lord, it is just the beginning. We believe God has even greater things ahead and are trusting Him as we move toward building a larger church home on this land. Though we may not know every detail of what’s to come, we are confident that He will continue to lead us as we bring Life, Healing, and Hope to our city through Jesus Christ, our Lord. We are so excited for you to be a part of this journey with us!
